We’re committed to making your experience as smooth and straightforward as possible.
Our pelvic ultrasound procedures are non-invasive and designed to be as comfortable as possible. During a transabdominal ultrasound, a probe will be placed on your abdomen, and for a transvaginal ultrasound, a small probe will be inserted vaginally for a clearer view. Our staff will explain each step and ensure you’re at ease throughout the process.
For a transabdominal ultrasound, you will need a full bladder, so please drink plenty of water before your appointment. For a transvaginal ultrasound, it’s recommended that your bladder is empty. Our team will provide detailed instructions when you book your appointment to ensure you’re fully prepared.
While a regular pelvic ultrasound provides an overview of the pelvic organs, specialized procedures like Saline Infusion Sonohysterography (SIS) and Hysterosalpingo-contrast Sonography (HyCoSy) offer more detailed imaging of the uterus and Fallopian tubes. These procedures are used for more specific conditions like abnormal bleeding, infertility, or endometriosis.
Ultrasounds are an essential tool for detecting and assessing conditions like endometriosis, fibroids, and polyps, but advanced techniques like 3D imaging and SIS are more precise for diagnosing these conditions. While ultrasounds can provide valuable information, the extent and severity of conditions like endometriosis may require further diagnostic evaluation.
No referral is required to schedule an appointment. However, we recommend discussing your concerns with your primary care provider or gynecologist to ensure the right procedure is chosen. If you have any questions about which service is best for you, our team is happy to assist you when booking your appointment.
